Who we are

What we collect when you send an enquiry

• Your name, and the phone number and/or email address you give us.
• What you asked: your message, the kind of enquiry (question, viewing request, call back, part exchange, finance), a preferred day or time if you gave one, and how you would like us to reply.
• If you tell us about a part exchange: the registration, mileage and anything you add about the car.
• The car you asked about, as it was shown at the time (so we still know which car you meant if it later sells).
• The page you sent the enquiry from and, only if you allowed analytics cookies or followed a tagged link, the website or campaign that brought you here.
• A scrambled code made from your internet connection’s address, which changes every month. We use it only to stop automated abuse; it cannot be turned back into your address.

Why we use it

To answer your enquiry and, if you decide to go ahead, to arrange a viewing, value your car or sell you a car. This is in our legitimate interests and at your request, as steps before a possible contract. We never sell your details.

Marketing is separate and optional. We only email you about new stock and offers if you tick that box. You can withdraw at any time by replying to one of those emails or contacting us, and it does not affect your enquiry.

Who can see it

Our own sales team, through a password-protected system. Our website host stores it for us. If you apply for finance, that happens on our main website and is covered by the privacy information there and the lender’s own notice.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details are kept for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, then your name, contact details, messages and notes are deleted automatically; we keep only anonymous information such as which car was enquired about and when. Messages that look like spam are deleted after 30 days. If you buy a car from us, the sale records are kept for as long as the law requires.

Cookies and analytics

We only use Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies, and we never send your name, phone number, email address or message to Google. See our cookie information; you can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, object to how we use them, or withdraw your marketing consent. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
